On October 21st and 22nd, Quiksilver lit up the skies in front of the Grand Gateway Mall in the Xujiahui section of Shanghai. Anyone passing through downtown during the weekend could not miss the action going down on the Quiksilver half pipe, as well as celebrity MC Li Chen from Channel V standing on stage. The lights around the stage set the models and skaters ablaze, making the vibrant colors and soft patterns of the Quiksilver/Roxy fall and winter collection contrast against the sea of faces looking on in enjoyment.
While the Quiksilver China skate team demoed throughout the day and night in front of hundreds of people, local Shanghai kids were invited to skate in the practice area set off to the side of the stage area. And while most of the crowd stuck around for the fashion show and skate demo, others checked out the Quiksilver Activity Area. Inside the tents, girls were having their custom made Roxy nails applied, urban art enthusiasts watched the live graffiti exhibition, with Quiksilver and Roxy logos as the inspiration, and many people signed up for the huge lucky draw.
The purpose of Quiksilver Grand Gateway event was not only to the show the public the great styles coming out of Quiksilver and Roxy this fall/winter, but also to give the public a well rounded view of Quiksilver...fashion, fun, and board sports!
